Parking may be tight so if you can Uber that would be great!

There are bathrooms! See the church details because this is not the case for the whole weekend!

There is a playground and plenty of trails to explore for the little ones.
What's the vibe?

Think family reunion vibes, because you're family to us! There will be an indoor (air conditioned!) and outdoor space for us to spend time together and play games. Feel free to bring board games or yard games if you're interested!

The church seats about 200 people comfortably. You are one of 200 people attending! Don't be shy, get to know your neighbors in the pew. 

IMPORTANT: Church Accommodations

Please note that the church does not have running water or indoor restroom facilities. A clean and well-maintained portable restroom will be available onsite for your convenience. Please plan your.. ahem.. bio breaks.. accordingly!

There is a small grass parking lot. Feel free to park wherever your wheels and heart can take you! 

Father Dooley has confirmed this is how they typically park for events at this church. You won't hurt the grass's feelings!

What is there to do in Iowa?
GETTING TO AND FROM THE CHURCH

The church is 25 minutes from downtown Des Moines. If you are coming from out of town and don't plan to rent a car, taking a ride share *to* the church is a great option.

However, it is in rural Iowa so Uber may not be a reasonable option *back* to town.

The good news? We literally have hundreds of friends and family who are planning to drive and will have extra space in their car, so please reach out if you'd like a ride back to town (or both ways!) We can connect you with someone.

-High trestle trail pedestrian bridge (lights up at night). You can hike to this bridge near Madrid, IA or do the full 25-mile trail starting in Woodward and ending in Ankeny. Both are about 20 minutes from Des Moines. This requires a shuttle and bikes! 

- Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge (requires car)

Hotels
HOTELS

Both of these hotels are cute boutique spots within walking distance from the reception at the River Center. 

Hotel Fort Des Moines is a 19-minute walk from the reception. 

Surety Hotel (Marriott) is a 13-minute walk from the reception - Book Your Room Here

Neither of these have pools. If you prefer to stay at a different hotel, that is no problem! 

SHUTTLE - FROM RECEPTION TO HOTEL

We will provide a trolley from the reception to the hotels! It will run about every 20 minutes (in the beginning of the night it will be available as requested).
